Service Description
TheJoyce.org provides a human-guided texting companion service for individuals experiencing grief. Messages are supportive, conversational, and intended to offer gentle connection. Joyce is not a medical, therapeutic, or crisis service.
Use of the Service
By contacting Joyce through SMS, phone, or a web form, you agree to receive one‑to‑one messages related to your outreach. You may stop using the service at any time.
You can opt out of SMS communication by replying STOP to any message from Joyce. Replying HELP will provide support information and links.
SMS Messaging & A2P Compliance
Joyce only sends SMS messages to individuals who have opted in by contacting us first or by submitting a web form with clear consent. All messages are conversational and directly related to your outreach.
Joyce does not send:
- Marketing or promotional SMS
- Bulk or mass text campaigns
- Automated outreach to people who have not contacted Joyce first

No Emergency or Clinical Care
Joyce is not a crisis hotline, emergency service, or licensed mental health provider. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a crisis, please contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.
Limitation of Liability
TheJoyce.org is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. When changes are made, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
